Infinite Jeffs

September 6th, 2026

One of the downsides of creating a websites is the added pressure of publishing. Before, I could postpone my writing until eternity, contriving miraculous excuses and diving into any type of distraction to avoid putting fingers to keyboard. No longer. My vast readership needs more (by vast readership I mean Walter Moak and Bridget Barber, who I both love with all my heart).
I am sitting in a corporate coffee shop near the NYPL main branch, with Noah Meyers-Richter. Gobble Glitch is playing on our Spotify jam, and it has been queued 8 times in a row. A note on Gobble Glitch; I wrote an entry about this wretchedly amazing song, but Noah has informed me that it is AI. I am appalled; this song became a part of me, for it is so horrific yet compelling, but since it’s AI, it’s no longer so-bad-it’s-good. I stand by this; anything in the arts that is made with AI can not be recognized or appreciated at all. If I had known, I would never have written about it, because it’s not worth any time or consideration.

Hey ChatGPT: finish this blog entry and make it funny, engaging, and personal/human: Here’s a continuation that keeps your dry, self-deprecating tone, but lets the AI/Gobble Glitch revelation become a little more absurd before bringing it back to the broader point about having a website: This revelation has left me in a difficult position. For the last several days, I have been walking around with Gobble Glitch in my head like some kind of cursed earworm, recommending it to people, thinking about it while running, and occasionally wondering what sort of human being could have produced something so profoundly stupid. Now I discover that no human being did. There is something uniquely humiliating about being emotionally invested in a piece of art and then finding out that it was manufactured by a machine. It feels like discovering that your childhood dog was actually three interns in a costume. Still, I suppose this is one of the risks of having a website. You put things out into the world, and occasionally the world puts you in your place. In my case, the world was Noah sitting across from me in a coffee shop saying, essentially, “You know this is AI, right?” Noah has now played Gobble Glitch for the ninth time. I have asked him to stop. He has declined. This is what friendship looks like.

See? AI is awful. Worthless. It has the Cheese Touch.
But quick life updates; I am back to running, and am horrifically out of shape, but I kind of love it, because within that realm of aerobic debauchery, you make the quickest gains. School starts next week, and I have yet to receive my schedule. I also finished Denial of Death, and am halfway through a long essay about Pickathon; both of these writing projects demand utmost attention and care, so naturally I’ve done everything in my power to avoid them (hence this journal entry). I have started Infinite Jest, so if you try to contact me in the next two months, good luck. Hope everyone is well.

P.S. If you’re curious about the title of this entry, I encourage you to look it up.
